“Lynn was our son's first teacher when he started childcare at 16 months. When we dropped him off, someone passed us in the hallway and said "you are SO lucky to have Ms. Lynn!" And after experiencing her dedication to the edification and well-being of the children in his class, I'd say the same to any parents who choose to put their child under her care. The Montessori program she provided for the children was exemplary, showcasing her passion for childhood development and providing the class with new and exciting experiences that went above and beyond what I expected. From a day spent learning about bees and sampling honeycomb to helping the children plant bean seeds and tending to the plants as they grew, she provided a magical space for the children to realize their capacity to learn, to create and do things they didn't think they could do. Our son came home so confident in his capabilities, empowered by the gentle structure and autonomy provided in Montessori programming. One thing that has always set Ms. Lynn apart for me as a mother, was her careful attention to the emotional well-being of the children, especially those who are new to child care and are experiencing separation from their caregivers for the first time. She knew how to validate their feelings and come up with unique ways for them to find connection with her and with each other. She knew how to slow down when the children needed to acclimate and how to keep their little minds and bodies busy when they were ready to jump in! Ms. Lynn is extra special and parents can feel confident in her creative teaching approach and tender care. And based on some of the healthy and delicious treats she made for my son's class, I know her menu is going to be incredible as well.”

“I met Lynn when our teenaged daughters worked together and told us both that we had so much in common and would make great friends.  That was 15 + years ago and our girls were absolutely right!  Lynn is a kind, gentle and generous soul who enjoys sharing her knowledge and helping others.  Her many talents include creative crafts, sewing, knitting mittens and donating them to those in need, visiting lonely seniors, playing guitar and piano and much more.  Being a Reverend, she’s also a compassionate and intuitive counsellor and a great listener who offers sound advice.  Lynn created a beautiful and heartfelt outdoor wedding ceremony for me and my husband. Her love of children shows through her patience and caring.  She homeschooled her own 3 children who’ve all grown into responsible, independent and caring young adults.

What I admire most about Lynn is her passion for helping children grow and overcome challenges.  It’s not just a job for her, it’s a calling.  She has an innate ability to see the potential in every child and to nurture that potential with patience and understanding.  Her love for children is not just about teaching them through every phase of their development.  Her approach is holistic, always recognizing that the body, mind and spirit are interconnected, and that you can’t treat one without considering the others. This child-centred, whole-child approach is at the core of everything she does.

I first met Lynn at a childcare centre in Guelph, and we hit it off right away.  It was clear from the start that she had a unique way of connecting with children and a deep understanding of their needs.  With so many years of experience as an educator and a mother, she knows what children need to grow and thrive.   She doesn’t just care for children; she truly sees them and works with them in a way that honours their individuality and their ability to learn and grow.  Lynn approaches each child as a whole person, not just a set of tasks to be completed and this makes all the difference. She practices communication, attentive listening, and collaboration with families so that they feel understood and supported.  

Children flourish around her because of her patience, creativity, knowledge, and kindness.  She creates an environment where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to explore, ask questions, and express themselves.  Lynn’s ability to weave together the emotional, social, cognitive, and physical aspects of a child’s growth ensures that they not only overcome challenges, but also thrive during the process.  I’ve seen firsthand how much of an impact she has on the children she cares for.  Lynn is an inspiration to me and the gold standard to all educators.
